Kilgore, Bradley, Chamberlain reach quarterfinals at University Nationals in freestyle

AKRON, Ohio – The University Nationals freestyle competition typically brings out a star-studded list of elite college wrestlers.
And this year is no exception.
2011 NCAA champion Dustin Kilgore, past Junior World champion Dom Bradley and past Junior World Team member Jason Chamberlain are among the top wrestlers who reached the University Nationals quarterfinals on Saturday.
Kilgore, third in this event last year, won his first two matches to advance to the quarters at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. Kilgore will be a senior next year at nearby Kent State after taking an Olympic redshirt this past season.
Bradley landed a berth in the quarters at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. He also took an Olympic redshirt during the 2011-12 school year.
Chamberlain downed two-time NCAA champion Kellen Russell 1-0, 2-0 in the second round at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. on Saturday.
The quarterfinals are set for 9 a.m. on Sunday at the University of Akron Field House. The finals are scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
The finalists at the seven Olympic weight classes will qualify for the 2012 University World Team Trials on Aug. 17-18 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
