USA Wrestling’s 2012 New Jersey Drive of Champions will be held at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. on Monday, June 4, and is expected to be an exciting day for those who attend.

The big news is that athletes who have qualified to compete at the London Olympics in men’s freestyle will be there in person as part of the activities. 

Also attending are coaches including National Freestyle Coach and Olympic medalist Zeke Jones, 2011 FILA International Coach of the Year Mark Manning and others. A number of other Freestyle Team USA members will attend the event.

Freestyle Team USA is also in the metropolitan area to also compete at the Beat the Streets Gala USA vs. Russia dual meet in Times Square in New York City on June 7.

Another big announcement is that Mixed Martial Arts legend and past Greco-Roman wrestling great Randy Couture will also be there. Couture has supported the event as its Honorary Chairman, but has now committed to being at the Trump National Golf Club in person to meet with those in attendance.

Wrestling fans remember Couture’s successful mat career. He gained national prominence as a member of the U.S. Army wrestling team. In college, he was an NCAA runner-up for Oklahoma State. He developed into one of the nation’s best Greco-Roman wrestlers, competing at the World Championships for USA Wrestling and winning a number of national titles and international honors.

It is being billed as the biggest benefit golf outing in the history of American wrestling. 

Patrons can also choose to only attend the post-golf outing dinner with members of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team. The dinner will feature a wrestling exhibition, as well as other fun activities.

The golf outing for the New Jersey Drive of Champions will begin at 8:30 a.m. The Drive of Champions Dinner and Wrestling Exhibition is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Spots are still available in the golf outing. The 2012 NJ Drive of Champions will offer foursomes or singles for the golf outing. The Trump National Golf Club-Bedminster is rated among the top 100 golf courses in the world. Special pricing for the golf outing is now available for USA Wrestling members.
