Each of the teams will wrestle the other four teams in their pool in dual meets on Saturday.
On Sunday, based upon their finish in each pool, the medal matches will be held to determine all 10 placements in the tournament.
Only the first three rounds of the five-round pool competition has been placed on the website at this time. According to the draw posted, the USA will open with Japan in the first round, Turkey in the second round and a bye in the third round. It is not clear when they will face Georgia or Iran during the pool competition.
The U.S. roster includes five 2012 Olympians and one Olympic Team Trials Champion.
“I know most people in America right now are focused on the Olympics. Not us. We’re focused on the World Cup. We brought a team here to win, nothing else. With the exception of Jake Herbert and our 60 kgwrestle off, we have our Olympic Team here because we targeted this tournament and the wrestlers that are here to compete against. This is the second biggest competition of the year and we’re here to knock down some doors,†said National Freestyle Coach Zeke Jones.
