Online registration for Body Bar Women’s Nationals closes Wednesday at 7 p.m. Central

2011 FILA Junior World bronze medalists Erin Golston and Alli Ragan are eligible to return to the Body Bar FILA Junior Nationals this year. Both advance directly to the best-of-three series

The Body Bar Women’s National Championships will be held in Lakeland, Fla., May 11-13 at the Lakeland Center. 

The event is USA Wrestling’s age-group wrestling championships with competitions for five separate age groups: FILA Junior Nationals (ages 17-20), FILA Cadet Nationals (ages 15-17), ages 13-14, ages 10-12, and ages 7-9.

Online registration is available until 7:00 p.m. central time, Wednesday May 9. Reduced online registration entry fee is $30.

On-site registration will be accepted, but the fee is $40. 

The event serves as the qualifying event for two age-group World Championships, as well as other international competitions.

Champions at the Body Bar FILA Junior National Championships will qualify for the U.S. team at the 2012 FILA Junior World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand, Sept. 4-9.

Champions at the Body Bar FILA Cadet National Championships will qualify for the U.S. team at the 2012 FILA Cadet World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, August 21-27.

Both the FILA Junior Nationals and the FILA Cadet Nationals will have a best-of-three series for the Championship finals.

On the FILA Junior level, a returning FILA Junior World medalist earns the right to sit out of the Challenge Tournament, moving right into the best-of-three Championship Series at the FILA Junior Nationals.

Two 2011 FILA Junior World bronze medalists are eligible to compete at the FILA Junior Nationals again and will advance to the best-of-three finals: Erin Golston (Lake in the Hills, Ill./New York AC) and Alli Ragan (Carbondale, Ill./New York AC/King College).

In conjunction with the event, Olympian Marcie Van Dusen will be holding a clinic on Saturday, May 12, at 8:00 am. For more information click here
