The Veterans Freestyle and Greco-Roman Nationals are being held with the Western Junior Regional Nationals in Tucson, Ariz., at the Tucson Convention Center, May 3-5.

The Veterans Nationals is comprised of five divisions, starting at 25 years old and going up:
Division A: (Born 1980-1987)
Division B: (Born 1972-1979)
Division C: (Born 1964-1971)
Division D: (Born 1957-1963)
Division E: (Born 1956 and before)

Veterans weight classes are the same for all divisions: 50-58 kg/110.25-127.75 lbs., 63 kg/138.75lbs, 69 kg/152 lbs., 76 kg/167.5 lbs., 85 kg/187.25 lbs., 97/213.75 lbs., 130 kg/286.5 lbs.

Many of the athletes expected to compete have been previous Veterans National Champions, or have represented the United States at past Veterans World Championships. Athletes do not have to attend Veterans Nationals to compete at the Veterans World Championships, but many of those competing in Tucson are expected to also compete at the World level later this year.

The Western Junior Regionals, featuring top high school athletes from Western states and from around the nation, will also be held at this time. Competition is in both freestyle and Greco-Roman.

The top three place winners in each Junior weight class qualifies for their state’s National Team above the state limit. USA Wrestling’s Asics/Vaughn Junior & Cadet National Championships are July 13-21, in Fargo, N.D. 

Veterans athletes still interested in competing may register online at a cost of $75. On-site registration is available but there will be a late fee of $25.

Junior athletes may register online for $30 per style. On-site registration is available, but there will be a late fee of $10.

Deadline to register is Tuesday, May 1st, 5:00 p.m.(Mountain) for both divisions.
