With the summer quickly approaching, there are many opportunities for women in the junior development group (born 1992-1994 1995, with medical certificate). To make the U.S. FILA Jr. World team athletes must be the champion in their weight class at the Body Bar National Championships held May 11-13 in Lakeland Florida. To make the Pan-Am team, athletes must be the runner-up at the Body Bar Nationals.
The Body Bar Nationals will set the lineups for this year’s U.S. Junior World and Junior Pan-Am teams. Below are dates for camps, tours and development opportunities for this summer. The purpose of the camps is to prepare for international competition and to bring top junior athletes together for continued development. Some camps will be conducted alongside with our senior National Team. Due to a need to make travel arrangements as quickly as possible, potential team members are encouraged to plan for dates, requirements and opportunities listed below. USA Wrestling will need your commitment and travel information at the conclusion of the Body Bar Nationals.
The top three athletes in each weight class are invited to all competition and training camps. If the Champion of the Body Bar Nationals is unable, injured or cannot attend scheduled events, she will be replaced with alternate (#2 or #3). Therefore, USA Wrestling will need to know immediately following the event whether or not you will be able to participate.
