Wrestlers that have not yet qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials will have one last chance to qualify at the Final U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifying Tournament, March 31-April 1 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The top two wrestlers in each weight class in the 18 Olympic weight classes who have not already qualified will qualify for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials held in Iowa City, Iowa, April 21-22. These athletes will pursue a lifelong dream to compete for a chance to represent the USA at the 2012 London Olympic Games this summer.
Competition will be held in the seven Olympic weight classes in men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman, as well as the four Olympic weight classes in women’s freestyle.
Action will begin Saturday March 31 with men’s freestyle, while women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman will compete on Sunday April 1.
The event is expected to feature numerous top college wrestlers, as well as talented senior–level wrestlers who have yet to qualify. However, the event is open to athletes who have already qualified if they wish to enter.
The deadline to register for the event is Wednesday, March 28, at 6:00 C.S.T. p.m. Athletes should register online for the Final Olympic Trials Qualifying event below.
