Downtown Iowa City to host ASICS Fan Fest during U.S. Olympic Team Trials, April 21-22

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Downtown Iowa City Self Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) is pleased to announce the Asics Fan Fest will be held in Downtown Iowa City, April 21–22. 

Asics Fan Fest will serve as the entertainment hub for the thousands of visitors attending the 2012 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team Trials at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, as well as the Iowa City area community. Fan Fest is open to the public and FREE for all ages. 

Fans attending the Olympic Trials can walk, drive or shuttle from Carver-Hawkeye Arena to downtown Iowa City, where they can enjoy live music and interactive wrestling-themed activities, browse merchandise vendors, enjoy family-friendly activities at the Patch.com Kids’ Zone, and experience Iowa City’s celebration of Olympic wrestling hopefuls as they pursue their dreams of competing in the 2012 London Olympics.  

Official Asics Fan Fest activities are scheduled from 2-6 p.m. on April 21 and 22 (during the intermission between wrestling sessions at the Trials).

Scheduled musical acts include The Last Ride, Burlington Street Bluegrass Band, and The Awful Purdies.
