Anderson will face top-seeded Nathan Fitzenreider of North Central. Fitzenreider rallied with a third-period reversal to beat unseeded Nathaniel Giorgio of the Coast Guard Academy. 133 Semifinals
Returning national champion Seth Ecker of Ithaca moved closer to repeating as he advanced to the finals with a fall at 4:25 over unseeded Joe Mileski of UW-Stevens Point. Ecker was in control from start to finish, building a big lead before getting the fall in the second. 141 Semifinals
Bebeto Yewah of UW-Lax wasn't tested in a 15-7 major decision victory over St. Olaf's Ryan Timmerman. Yewah's quest for a third title will be against Wartburg's Kodie Silvestri. The New Jersey native scored a third-period reversal to knock off third-seeded Chris Albright of York 2-0.

149 Semifinals
Jeremy Stierly of Ithaca continued to give Bomber fans heart attacks. After rallying in the early rounds, he picked up a takedown on the edge in the second sudden victory to move into the finals with a 6-4 win over Joe Wood of Loras. Stierly will face unbeaten Anthony Dattolo of Wilkes, who got a scare but remained unbeaten. Dattolo was up 10-6 in the second when Delaware Valley's Zac Andrews slapped on a cradle and finished out the period with five more points to take an 11-10 lead going into the third. A third period reversal with 20 seconds to go gave Dattolo a adrenaline-pumping 12-11 victory.

157 Semifinals
Nazar Kulchytsky of UW-Oshkosh will get his rematch with Augsburg's Orlando Ponce. Kulchytsky pounded unseeded John Darling of TCNJ 14-5 to move into the finals, while Ponce picked up a takedown in sudden victory countering Centenary's Chris Burdge offensve attack. Late in regulation, Burdge had a chance to earn the win, but a takedown on the edge was waved off after the officials conferred. Ponce moves into the finals for the third straight year. Ponce beat Kulchytsky earlier this season.

Pfarr, seeded eighth, broke a 6-6 tie with a third-period takedown and added the riding time point. Pfarr will face returning runner-up Bradley Banks of Wartburg. Banks topped Scott King of Coe 11-7 in an exciting tilt. Third-seeded Kyle Kwiat of Ohio Northern blitzed St. Olaf's James Roach 17-0 to advance to the semifinals. Kwiat will face past champion Michael Schmitz of UW-Lax. Schmitz topped Matt Cross of Messiah 4-3. With the win, Schmitz secured his fourth All-American placement. 184 pounds Top-seeded Mike Denver remained unbeaten on the year and moved into the semifinals with a 13-2 major decision over St. John's Mitchell Hagen. Denver will face York's Alex Martocello, a 3-1 winner over 27-year-old David Dwyer of UW-Whitewater. King's College will be represented in the semifinals with Mike Reilly. The Monarch picked up a 4-2 victory over Wabash's Greg Rhodes. He'll face upstart Timothy Stewart of Messiah. Stewart upset Midlands placewinner Josef Rau of Elmhurst 6-5. 197 pounds As expected, Byron Tate of Wartburg moved into the semifinals with a fall over Whitewater's Adam Latella. Tate gave up the first takedown, but then bullied Latella the rest of the way, earning the fall in the second period. Tate will face fourth-seeded Brad Baus of Augsburg. Baus beat Luther's Trent Flegel 3-0. Unbeaten Jared Myhrberg of Cortland State picked up a fall over Elizabethtown's William Meaney to advance to the semifinals. Myhrberg will face Dustin Baxter of St. John's. Baxter won a marathon tiebreaker on two seconds of riding time against Concordia-Moorhead's Nathan Schmitz. 285 pounds York's George Salbia assured himself of All-American honors by reaching the semifinals at heavyweight with a 5-2 win over Cortland State's Joey Giaramita. Salbia beat top-seeded Derrick Hesson in the first round. Salbia will face Whitewater's Corey Anderson, a 5-3 winner over Ryan Fank of Wartburg. Billy Mayer of UW-Lax will take on Chad Johnson of Augsburg in the bottom bracket semifinal. Mayer got past unbeaten Joseph Zitone of Centenary by one second of riding time in the tiebreakers, while Johnson cruised to an 8-0 major decision over Logan Renas of Olivet. Session I Wartburg jumped out to an early lead in the team race with 18 points. Coe, the Knights chief rivals in the Iowa Conference, was second with 14, followed by Augsburg at 12 and UW-Whitewater with 10. Fourteen seeded wrestlers lost in the first session, including top-seeded heavyweight Derrick Hesson of Mount Union. Three seeds fell at 125 pounds as fifth-seeded Daniel Mendoza of Luther, seventh-seeded Timmy Hood of Cornell and eighth-seeded Stephen Hinton of Lycoming were all bitten by the upset bug. Wartburg went 8-3 in the first session, while Coe went 6-1. Augsburg went 5-3. Sparty Up George Saliba of York College picked up the day's biggest upset so far and the Division III trend continues. Saliba beat top-seeded Derrick Hesson of Mount Union 2-1 in the tiebreakers to make it at least four straight years where a top-seeded wrestler was beaten in the first session. Big win for Little Giant Greg Rhodes of Wabash picked off third-seeded Dylan Azinger of Wartburg 4-3 at 184 pounds. Rhodes, unseeded but a returning All-American fell behind early but led 4-2 heading into the third. He took a stall warning to give up a late point but held off Azinger for the win. Denver survives TCNJ's Mike Denver came in as the top-seeded wrestler at 184 pounds. He fell behind 4-0 to Coe's Ethan Ball, but rallied with a takedown in the third and added a riding time point to pick up a 6-5 victory and advance to the quarterfinals. Home cookin' Lax's Kevin O'Brien lost to Ithaca's Nick Sanko back at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals in January, but in La Crosse, O'Brien reversed the outcome to pick up a 3-2 victory and knock off Sanko, who was the tournament's third seed at 165 pounds. Hanging on Augsburg's Will Keeter hung on to fend off the upset attempt by Johns Hopkins' Paul Marcello. Keeter's escape in the first half of tiebreaker #1 was the difference. Keeter was seeded fourth and is one of the All-American contenders as the Auggies are trying to get at least four All-Americans for the 23rd straight year. The David Taylor of Division III? Thursday night at the Hall of Fame Coaches Social, BadgerStateWrestling.com's Shane Sparks compared UW-La Crosse's Bebeto Yewah to Penn State's David Taylor. "If you look up, it's 0-0, if you look away and come back, it's 4-0," said Sparks. True that. Yewah advanced to the second round after a 23-7 technical fall over Wilkes' Ryan Wilson. Yewah is looking for this third Division III title. Darling starting off strong Unseeded John Darling of TCNJ picked off sixth-seeded Isaac Dukes of Case Western Reserve 9-2 in the opening round at 157 pounds. Dukes was the champion at 149 pounds two years ago. The Tomcat Redemption Second-seeded Corey Brown of Thiel avenged a loss in last year's 7th place match with a dominant 13-4 major decision over Chad Henle of St. John's. Brown was the second seed and the pigtail matched up All-Americans in round one. March is over, time to wrestle Sandy Stevens and Todd Hibbs have introduced all the teams at the Division III Championships and we are set to go with pigtails. It's time to get things started! Action set to begin Wrestling will get underway at 11 a.m. Central time from the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wisc.
