Lee demonstrated precisely why by knocking off Canada’s top two heavyweights en route to winning her second Dave Schultz Memorial International title on Thursday at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
Lee pinned Canadian Olympic Trials champion Leah Callahan in the finals at 72 kg/158.5 lbs. after she pinned past World silver medalist Ohenewa Akuffo of Canada in the semifinals.
Lee, who also won this event in 2009, pinned Canada’s Justina Distasio in the first round.
