KRASNOYARSK, Russia – The weigh-ins have been held and the draws have been released for the second day of the Ivan Yarygin Memorial Grand Prix, which starts on Friday.

Five U.S. women freestyle wrestlers will compete on Saturday.

At 48 kg/105.5 lbs., 2010 U.S. World Team member Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) will open against Irini Merlini of Ukraine, a 2004 Olympic champion, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist and three-time World champion who has made a comeback.

Two-time Junior World champion Victoria Anthony (Huntington Beach, Calif./New York AC) has a bye at 48 kg/105.5 lbs., then faces the winner of the match between Lampe and Merlini.

2005 World champion Iris Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) will face 2010 World University silver medalist Hiroe Suzuki of Japan in her first bout at 72 kg/158.5 lbs.

Two-time U.S. World Team member Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md./New York AC) starts off against 2007 Asian Cadet champion Khongorzul Lhagvasuren of Mongolia at 72 kg/158.5 lbs.

The other American, Erin Clodgo (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 63 kg/138.75 lbs. opens against Julia Albarova of Russia.

Only five American women have ever won a gold medal at the Ivan Yarygin Memorial Grand Prix. Smith is one of those five, having captured her title at the 2004 Yarygin Memorial.

There is one U.S. men’s freestyle wrestler in competition on Saturday, 2010 U.S. World Team member Brent Metcalf (Iowa City, Iowa/New York AC) who opens at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. against Mulid Lampejgev of Russia.
