Oklahoma State sets the celebration of the life of Myron Roderick on Feb. 11 in Stillwater

Oklahoma State University has announced a dinner celebrating the life of the late Myron Roderick on Saturday, February 11 in Stillwater, Okla.
The function will be held in the O’Club Room at Gallagher-Iba Arena on the Oklahoma State campus. Held alongside the celebration for Myron Roderick will be a former Oklahoma State wrestler reunion.
Cowboy Wrestling is hosting the dinner at no cost. Attendees will have the opportunity to make donations in the memory of Myron Roderick through the OSU Foundation/Wrestling.
The next day, Sunday, February 12, Oklahoma State is hosting the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals – Mat Mayhem event, one of the four regional sites for this new National Duals format. Those attending the Roderick dinner are encouraged to also attend this exciting college event. Tickets are $20 for reserved seats and $15 for general admission.
“As a coach, mentor and friend of many, we would like to come together to honor Coach Roderick as a member of the Cowboy family,†said Oklahoma State head wrestling coach John Smith.
To participate in the Roderick celebration, a registration form must be sent via FAX to the Oklahoma State wrestling office by Thursday, Feb. 2 at 405-744-1763 (FAX).

Wrestling legend Myron Roderick passed away on Dec. 28 at the age of 77 years.
Roderick made a huge impact on wrestling as an NCAA champion and Olympic athlete, a record-setting college coach at Oklahoma State, and one of the most successful administrators in U.S. wrestling history.
He was one of the founding fathers of USA Wrestling in its infancy, as it developed from the U.S. Wrestling Federation in the late 1960s. He served as the executive director of the USWF from 1969-1974, setting the foundation for the organization which has evolved into today’s USA Wrestling, the national governing body for the sport.
