USA Wrestling has announced their rosters for the four U.S. teams that will compete in the Kiki Cup, Saturday, January 28. The Greco-Roman tournament will be held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The tournament will feature a dual meet format, where each U.S. team will face four foreign teams, but will not compete against each other.
Leading USA-I is three time World medalist and 2002 World Champion, Dremiel Byers (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 120 kg/264 lbs. Also on the team are 2005 World bronze medalist Justin Ruiz (Orem, Utah/New York AC) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs., 2008 Olympian and three time World Team member Spenser Mango (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 55 kg/121 lbs. and two time World Team member Joe Betterman (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 60 kg/132 lbs. 2010 World Team member Jake Fisher, (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) at 74 kg/163 lbs. will also be a part of USA-I.
USA-II is led by two time World Team member Jeremiah Davis (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 60 kg/ 132lbs and 2011 World Team member Andy Bisek (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm) at 74 kg/ 163 lbs. Two time U.S. Open Champion Glenn Garrison (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 66 kg/ 145.5 lbs. and 2011 U.S. Open Champion Jordan Holm (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) at 84 kg/ 185 lbs. will also wrestle for USA-II.
Competing for USA-III is 2000 Olympic gold medalist and 2004 Olympic bronze medalist Rulon Gardner and 2011 U.S. World Team member Cheney Haight (Orem, Utah/New York AC) at 84 kg/ 185 lbs. 2009 World Team member R.C. Johnson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 96 kg/ 211.5 lbs., 2011 U.S. Open Champion Ben Provisor (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 74 kg/ 163 lbs. and two time Junior World medalist Ellis Coleman (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) at 60kg/ 132 lbs. will also be on the team.
Wrestling for USA-IV will be 2010 Junior World Team member Max Nowry (Wheeling Ill./USOEC/New York AC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. and 2011 Junior World Team member Toby Erickson (Helena, Mont. /USOEC) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs, who both placed fifth at the 2011 Junior World Championships. Zach Nielsen (Zimmerman, Minn./Minnesota Storm) who placed fifth at the World University Championships will compete at 84 kg/185 lbs.
The international teams in the tournament include Italy, Spain, India and a mixed international team made up of India, Greece, Slovenia and other nations. The international rosters will be announced next week.
The event will be webcast live on TheMat.com starting at 9:00 a.m. There will be eight rounds of competition throughout the day with the final dual meets will start at 5:00 p.m.
