Cody Bickley, Manager of National Coaches Education Program, will be hosting an NCEP Bronze Level Clinic webinar on Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
This is a rescheduled clinic, which was initially set for Nov. 7-8.
The NCEP Bronze level Clinic Webinar series has proven to be very
popular. This webinar will be limited to the first 100 people who sign up. Spots are still available in this clinic, so participants are encouraged to sign up right away.
The purpose of this webinar is to prove a comprehensive coaching education program for wrestling coaches who are committed to expanding their knowledge in the art and science of the coaching of wrestling. This is the first of a three part advanced coaching education program. The ensuing two parts are Silver and Gold level certification.
Copper is not a pre-requisite for the Bronze; however, it may be valuable to those coaches that do not have advanced formal coaching education.
USA Wrestling would like to invite volunteer, high school, collegiate, and elite international coaches who are looking to improve their knowledge and ability. Also, professional coaches who wish to continue their knowledge of the Sports Sciences, Sports First Aid, and Wrestling Technique and Tactics. Finally, all coaches who aspire to be national team (all age groups included) coaches are included in the targeted audience for this event.
“We’re trying to provide a convenience for coaches who can’t come for a weekend,†said Bickley. “We get a greater pool of coaches. The webinar allows for a wider array of knowledge.â€
The Bronze Certification Course consists of a 4 hour clinic, plus a self study of the USA Wrestling Coaches Guide to Excellence and a self study test.
The clinic will emphasize group interaction and is facilitated by USA Wrestling's Manager of NCEP - Cody Bickley.
We also welcome our guest panelist, retired high school and college coach Bob Smith. Smith is a retired college coach from Fort Hays State, where he served as head coach from 1992-2000. He coached 13 NCAA Div. II All-Americans and nine Academic All-Americans, and his team placed as high as ninth at the Div. II National Championships.
Previously, he was one of the nation’s most successful prep coaches at Wray High School in Colorado. Smith led Wray to 10 state team titles, seven state runner-up finishes and two state third-place finishes. He was named High School Coach of the Year in 1984. During his 33 years there, Smith coached 39 individual state champions, 39 state runners-up and 139 state placewinners.
The cost of the webinar is: $75 and includes a book, participant's packet, shirt or hat, certificate, and bronze card.
