Reece Humphrey (Columbus, Ohio/New York AC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Nov. 8-14.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Humphrey won the New York Athletic Club International Open freestyle title at 60 kg/132 lbs. on Sunday in New York City.

Humphrey, a 2011 U.S. World Team member, defeated past NCAA champion Coleman Scott 1-1, 1-0 in the championship finals. He won four matches en route to the title on Sunday. He was named Outstanding Wrestler of the freestyle competition.

Humphrey competed three times in four days, also wrestling in dual meets against Mongolia and Russia prior to the New York AC tournament.
