Big Ten Network to broadcast finals of 49th Midlands Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. – Wrestling fans will be able to watch the finals of the 49th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, hosted by Northwestern, on the Big Ten Network. The network announced that it will air the Dec. 30 finals on a same-day delay at 9 p.m. CT. The 49th edition of the prestigious wrestling tournament at Welsh-Ryan Arena begins Thursday, Dec. 29 and continues Friday, Dec. 30. This is the fifth year in a row the Big Ten Network has aired coverage of Midlands.

With the addition of Midlands to the Big Ten Network broadcast schedule, Northwestern will now appear on BTN three times throughout the 2011-12 season. NU’s duals at Wisconsin (same-day delay, 8 p.m.) and at Illinois (live at 5 p.m.) are also part of this year’s BTN wrestling schedule.

Northwestern also makes a number of appearances on the Big Ten Digital Network. A partnership between the Big Ten Network and CBS Interactive, the BTDN will merge online video content previously available through either BigTenNetwork.com or the NUsports.com All Access packages into one convenient subscription.
