Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo makes weight, set to compete at Sunkist Kids International Open

MESA, Arizona – Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo is set to return to competition.
Cejudo made weight late Saturday afternoon and is scheduled to compete at the Sunkist Kids International Open in men’s freestyle wrestling at 55 kg/121 lbs. on Sunday.
Cejudo, 24, has wrestled just one match since winning the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. He won an exhibition match in a dual meet against Russia in May in New York City.
“I’ve been training hard,†Cejudo said. “I feel good. I’m ready to go. We will see what happens.â€
Cejudo grew up in Phoenix and won two Arizona state high school titles before moving to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs prior to his junior year in high school.
Cejudo (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) weighed in at 56.6 kilograms on Saturday. Wrestlers were given a two-kilogram allowance for this event.
Wrestling is scheduled to begin on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Skyline High School in Mesa.
