Hempstead, NY - A five-match home schedule, featuring a visit from 2011 NCAA Championship Top 10 finisher Wisconsin, as well as competition in two of the most prestigious regular season tournaments highlight the 2011-12 Hofstra Pride Wrestling schedule that was announced recently.

The Pride, who finished 14-4-1 overall and 5-1 in Colonial Athletic Association competition on the way to their 10th conference championship in the past 11 years in 2010-11, will compete in 15 dual matches with 14 of those opponents having scored points at last year's NCAA Championships.

After the Binghamton Open kicks off the season on Sunday, November 13, Hofstra will begin its dual match and home schedule against the Badgers of Wisconsin on Sunday, November 20 at the Mack Sports Complex. In addition to Wisconsin, CAA opponents Drexel (Jan. 8) and Binghamton (Feb. 12), Ivy League member Pennsylvania (Jan. 29) and late addition Kutztown (Jan. 15) will visit the Mack Sports Complex.

The Hofstra road schedule features two teams that placed in the top five at last year's NCAA Championships in Cornell (Feb. 4), which finished second to Penn State, and American (Jan. 19), which finished fifth. The Pride will also travel to metropolitan area opponents Army (Dec. 8), Rutgers (Jan. 27), Rider (Feb. 16), and Columbia (Feb. 19), as well as Pittsburgh (Feb. 10) and three conference foes at the CAA Duals (Jan. 21).

The Pride will get an early feel where they stand nationally when they compete in the 30th Annual Cliff Keen-Las Vegas Collegiate Wrestling Invitational (CKLV) which will take place on December 2nd and 3rd at the Las Vegas Convention Center. At press time, 33 of the top teams in the country are scheduled to compete in the two-day affair. One month after the CKLV, the Pride will kick off the new year at the newly relocated Southern Scuffle, which has been moved to the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, on January 1-2.

The 2011-12 season marks the first year for Rob Anspach as the Pride Head Wrestling Coach after nine seasons as an assistant. In addition to Anspach, the Hofstra coaching staff also includes returnee Zach Tanelli, a 2009 All-American at Wisconsin; Dan Vallimont, a two-time All-American at Penn State; and Gregor Gillespie, a four-time All-American and 2007 NCAA champion at 149 pounds from Edinboro University.
