Jenna Pavlik, Toccara Montgomery, Sara McMann honored as TheMat.com Wrestlers of the Week of May 29-June 4 

TheMat.com has named its National Wrestlers of the Week for May 29-June 4, 2000.

The winner of TheMat.com cadet Wrestler of the Week is Jenna Pavlik (Lewes, Del./Unattached).

The winner of TheMat.com junior Wrestler of the Week is Toccara Montgomery (Cleveland, Ohio/Sunkist Kids).

The winner of TheMat.com International Wrestler of the Week is Sara McMann (Lock Haven, Pa./Sunkist Kids).

TheMat.com will announce Wrestlers of the Week in a number of age group levels, which will be posted on the web page and promoted to the national media.

Cadet Wrestler of the Week: Jenna Pavlik (Lewes, Del./Unattached)

Jenna Pavlik (Lewes, Del./Unattached) won by a technical fall over Melyssa Fazua (Westfield, Mass./Massachusetts WC), 10-0, at 154 pounds to win her second straight national title at the 2000 FILA Cadet Women's Nationals, June 3.

Junior Wrestler of the Week: Toccara Montgomery (Cleveland, Ohio/Sunkist Kids)

Montgomery won her first FILA Junior World Team Trials title at 149.75 pounds in Battle Creek, Mich., June 2. Montgomery was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Women's Junior division as well. She also competed in the Senior division where she lost in the best two-of-three series in the mini-tournament finals to four-time world-silver medalist Kristie Marano (Albany, N.Y./ATWA).

International Wrestler of the Week: Sara McMann (Lock Haven, Pa./Sunkist Kids)

McMann won the title at the 2000 Senior Women's World Team Trials at 136.5 pounds, June 4. 2000 U.S. Nationals champion McMann first won by a technical fall over Tonya Evinger (Bates City, Mo./Viking WC), 11-1, and then by another technical fall, 11-0. This is McMann's first year on the world team. McMann also won a Junior title over the weekend. She won by a technical fall over Evinger, 12-1 to claim the junior title.
