Blackstone Ranch Properties and Hidden Oak Development donate land to California USA Wrestling to build state of the art regional facility.
Fresno, Calif. – September 20, 2011 – California USA Wrestling announced today that they are moving forward with the planning, design, and development of a 16,000-seat multipurpose sport and entertainment complex in Tulare, California. The nonprofit wrestling organization has been working on the project for over two years and is excited to make the project a reality.
The decision to move forward was made possible by a generous multi-million dollar land donation from Blackstone Ranch Properties and Hidden Oak Development. Greg Nunley, managing partner of Great Valley Land Company, and spokesperson for Blackstone Ranch Properties and Hidden Oak Development, was instrumental in negotiating the land donation on behalf of all parties.
“This development project will have a tremendous economic benefit to the City of Tulare and the entire Central Valley. We all look forward to seeing this project become a landmark of this communityâ€, stated Nunley, a longtime Tulare resident and wrestling enthusiast.
“We are very excited that all our hard work for the past two years have got us to this stage. This project has been a dream for many of our athletes as well as all of us here at California USA Wrestling. To have a place we can officially call home is what every athlete dreams of, and today we took a big step in making sure California USA Wrestling and all of the athletes have a venue to call home,†said Rob Valerio, California USA Wrestling Treasurer.
California USA Wrestling’s development plans for the land in north Tulare include a 16,000-seat multipurpose arena, retail, corporate offices and a hotel and conference center. The 27-acre project will provide up to 950 temporary jobs during the construction and development, 2000 direct jobs upon completion of the complex, and ultimately 4,000 indirect jobs throughout the region.
Among the key highlights of the state-of-the-art facility:
· Estimated building area of 500,000 sq. ft.
· Estimated floor space of 84,000 sq. ft.
· 11,000 floor seats
· 27,000 total seat capacity
· 32 luxury suites
· 200-seat restaurant with views of arena
“We are delighted to hear that California USA Wrestling is coming to the city of Tulare. Our staff is working with them as they complete the final concept for a regional facility. The city anxiously awaits the culmination of their financing package,†stated Tulare Mayor, Wayne Ross.
An option agreement is on record with Tulare County regarding the land donation, and California USA Wrestling is currently seeking financing for the $100,000,000 project; the target opening date for the arena is February 1, 2015.
California USA Wrestling is currently developing partnerships and sponsors for their state-of-the-art arena.
