DEREK MOORE HONORED AS THEMAT.COM WRESTLER OF THE WEEK OF JUNE 5-11TheMat.com has named its National Wrestler of the Week for June 5-11.
The winner of TheMat.com Youth Wrestler of the Week is Derek Moore of Redding, Calif.
TheMat.com will announce Wrestlers of the Week in a number of age group levels, which will be posted on the web page and promoted to the national media.

Competing at 94.5 pounds, Moore's strong performance helped lead the California team to the finals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman at the inaugural USA Wrestling Cadet National Duals, held in Pueblo, Calif., June 9-10. California won the team title in Greco-Roman and placed second in freestyle at the dual meet tournament, which featured state-level teams for Cadets (15-16 years old). In the gold-medal matches, Moore was dominant. In the Greco-Roman team finals, Moore pinned Clay Leek of Indiana in 1:48. In the freestyle team finals, Moore won by technical fall over Scott Ervin of Oklahoma, 12-1. Moore was a silver medalist in both styles at 88 pounds at the 1999 Cadet National Championships.
