Coon seeks Greco-Roman medal as final four U.S. athletes get draws for Cadet Worlds on Sunday

Adam Coon of the United States receives his gold medal at 100 kg in freestyle at the Cadet World Championships in Hungary on Wednesday. Coon is also entered in the Greco-Roman division on Sunday.
SZOMBATHELY, Hungary – The final four U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the final day of the FILA Cadet World Championships on Sunday.
Among those competing is Adam Coon of Michigan, who won a Cadet World gold medal in freestyle at 100 kg/220 lbs. on Wednesday. Coon will attempt to win a medal in both styles, as he is the only American who chose to double up at the Cadet Worlds.
Coon has drawn Tamas Soos of Slovakia in his first match.
Coon was a double champion at the FILA Cadet Nationals in Akron, Ohio this spring. He also won a Junior Nationals Greco-Roman title in Fargo, N.D. in July, along with a freestyle silver medal.
Another FILA Cadet Greco-Roman champion competing on Sunday is Darius Henry of Illinois at 54 kg/119 lbs., who will open against Murad Mammadov of Azerbaijan in his first bout.
Other U.S. opening round draws on Sunday include:
• Matthew Rundell of Illinois against Mario Stjepic of Croatia at 46 kg/101.25 lbs.
• Mitchell Alexander of Illinois against Abylaikhan Amzeyev of Kazakhstan at 63 kg/138.75 lbs.
Coaching the Greco-Roman team is Mel Dow of Stoughton, Wis. along with National Greco-Roman Developmental Coach Ike Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colo.
