Kyle Crutchmer named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for May 31-June 6

Kyle Crutchmer (Broken Arrow, Okla./Team Oklahoma) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for May 31- June 6.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Crutchmer was a double champion, winning both freestyle and Greco-Roman at 171 pounds in the Junior division at the Southern Plains Regional Championships in Hays, Kansas.
Crutchmer defeated Cody Caldwell of Iowa in the finals of the freestyle tournament, 2-0, 2-1, and was named Outstanding Wrestler in freestyle.
In Greco-Roman, he stopped Nick Burghart of Colorado in the finals, 1-1, 7-0. In the two tournaments, Crutchmer went a combined 8-0.
Crutchmer was second in the 2010 Junior Nationals in Greco-Roman and sixth in freestyle. He was second in the 2010 FILA Cadet Nationals in Greco-Roman and third in the 2009 Cadet Nationals in Greco-Roman. Crutchmer is a junior at Tulsa Union High School and has won the state title there the last two years. He was named as an honorable mention selection to the 2011 ASICS High School All-America Team.
