The Durlacher family has notified USA Wrestling that services for the late Lindsey Durlacher will be held in the Chicago, Ill. area on Thursday, June 9.
2006 Greco-Roman World bronze medalist Lindsey Durlacher, 36, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep early on Saturday morning in Denver, Colo.
The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Shalom Memorial Cemetery, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights, Ill. 60004. (Phone 847-255-3520).
The memorial service will be held in the auditorium at Buffalo Grove High School, where Lindsey attended and won an Illinois state wrestling title. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service schedule for 2:30 p.m. The address of Buffalo Grove High School is 1100 W. Dundee Rd., Buffalo Grove IL 60089 (Phone 847-718-4000).
The family is aware that many in the wrestling community may not be able to attend due to the World Team Trials which are taking place this week in Oklahoma. The family plans to organize a memorial service for Lindsey in Colorado in a few weeks. They indicated that Lindsey would want the competitors to focus on their competition, and would wish them the best of luck in the World Team Trials.

Durlacher won his World Greco-Roman bronze medal at 55 kg/121 lbs. at the 2006 World Championships in Guangzhou, China. He placed fifth at the 2007 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, helping lead the United States to its first-ever World Team Title in Greco-Roman wrestling. He was also a member of the 2005 U.S. World Team.
