USA to face Serbia in Greco-Roman dual in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 14

The United States will face Serbia in a Greco-Roman wrestling dual meet on Saturday, May 14 at Coronado High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. The competition is scheduled to tentatively begin after 12:30 p.m.

The event will be held alongside the Westside Classic, a USA Wrestling sanctioned event held at Coronado High School by Colorado USA Wrestling. Young wrestlers and their families will have an opportunity to see World-class wrestling at one of their local events.

“It’s something we feel very fortunate to be able to offer to our Colorado Wrestling community. This is our sport’s elite coming to a local tournament and putting on an exhibition. It’s exciting for sure”, said Cam McElhany of the Westside Wrestling Club. 
The United States team will be made up of athletes currently training at the United States Olympic Training Center. 

The top competitors on the U.S. team are: 
• 2008 Olympian and two-time World Team member Spenser Mango at 55 kg
• 2011 U.S. Open champion and three-time Junior World Team member Ben Provisor at 74 kg
• Two-time Junior World Team member and 2011 University Nationals champion Jimmy Chase at 60 kg
• 2010 U.S. Open and World Team Trials bronze medalist Andy Bisek at 74 kg

Serbia has a long tradition of outstanding Greco-Roman wrestling programs. The team has been in Colorado Springs training with the U.S. team all week. It features a number of young stars.

The Serbian National Team includes:
• Junior World and Junior European team member Dragan Desic at 55 kg
• European and World University Championship team member Marko Devcic at 74 kg
• World and European Championship team member Petar Balo at 84 kg
• Junior World and Junior European team member Dejan Franjkovic at 96 kg
• World and European team member Milos Spasic at 120 kg
