Webcast to be provided for Tennessee Making a Difference tournament

USA Wrestling will be hosting a “Making a Difference” tournament in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, April 30. The organizers will provide a live webcast of the event on TheMat.com. 
 
Making a Difference tournaments provide high quality competition for wrestlers, with net proceeds donated directly to college wrestling. Organizers expect to raise more than $9,000 for college wrestling in Tennessee on Saturday.

The event will be held in conjunction with the Lion's Pride Ironman Open. 

This is the third Making a Difference tournament held over the past month. Previous events have been held in Oregon and Illinois. 

A unique aspect of the Making a Difference series of tournaments is all non-USAW member entries receive a one-day membership to compete in the event, customized awards, a free clinic with NCAA and World Champion Les Gutches and a free t-shirt allowing the athletes to show their support for college wrestling in their respective state.

The Making a Difference tournaments were founded in tandem with USA Wrestling and the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Through the efforts of these events, awareness and protection of collegiate wrestling is paramount. All entry fees will go directly to preserving, supporting and growing college wrestling in each state a tournament is hosted. 

"The NWCA is forever grateful to USA Wrestling for their leadership role in helping to fund our aggressive initiatives designed to entrench existing intercollegiate wrestling teams as well as to establish new ones," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
