The USA Wrestling Weekly broadcast for Friday, April 22 has been posted for fans to enjoy.

USA Wrestling Weekly is a new half-hour news broadcast which will be produced on a weekly basis. Presented in a news format, it provides updated information on USA Wrestling activities, as well as a variety of feature segments.

This week’s show included the following feature segments:
• Annoucement of the USA vs. Russia dual meet on May 5 in Times Square, as part of the 2011 Beat the Streets Gala in New York City
• Interview with Noel Thompson of the NYAC about the Beat the Streets Gala
• Coverage of the NWCA/USAW National Scholastic Duals in Indiana
• Launch of 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials official website
• U.S. lineups for Pan American Championships in Colombia, as well as the women’s team tour to Mongolia
• Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award Regional winners
• Tickets available to Dan Gable retirement celebration in June
• And much more

The Wrestling Greats segment features Olympic and World freestyle medalist Lincoln McIlravy. A bronze medalist at the 2000 Olympic Games, McIlravy also won World silver and bronze medals. He was a three-time NCAA champion and four-time finalist for the Univ. of Iowa, and a five-time state high school champion in South Dakota.

The Technique segment features transitions from takedowns to par terre, and is taught by USA Wrestling National Freestyle Developmental Coach Bill Zadick. Demonstrating the move are USOTC resident freestyle athletes Angel Cejudo and Phillip Simpson.

The USA Wrestling Weekly Photo of the Week contest winner was Mark Masterson, with a picture of Montana youth wrestler Aiden Lenz in action.

There is a new embeddable video player on TheMat.com which allows fans and media to view the most recent episode of USA Wrestling Weekly, and cycle through past episodes. This player can be embedded in websites, blogs and other online media outlets.

The show is moderated by veteran wrestling broadcaster Scott Casber and is scheduled for distribution each Friday on TheMat.com.

Each episode will also be posted on USA Wrestling’s YouTube Channel. In addition, USA Wrestling Weekly will be offered to a variety of websites, and will also be available to television networks across the nation.

USA Wrestling Weekly is now aired on television by:
• Mediacom Cable, with distribution in six Midwestern states, bringing USA Wrestling news to one of the biggest wrestling hotbeds in the nation.
• Long Lines Cable, with distribution in Eastern Nebraska, Western Iowa and SW South Dakota.
• CATV Service, which has served the Central Susquehanna Valley in Pennsylvania for over 55 years.
