Russia wins two Greco-Roman titles at European Championship

DORTMUND, Germany – Russia was the only country to have two individual champions at the 2011 European Wrestling Championship in Greco-Roman.

Capturing metals for Russia was Ambako Vachadze at 66 kg/145.5 lbs, the 2010 World Champion and returning 2010 European champion, and Khassan Baroev at 120 kg/264.5 lbs, the 2008 Olympic silver medalist.

Returning 2010 champions included Hasan Aliyev of Azerbaijan at 60 kg/132 lbs and Riza Kayaalp of Turkey at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
