Late March marks the beginning of USA Wrestling’s traditional Regional Championships. These championships are an opportunity for Kids, Cadet, Junior and Senior wrestlers to face quality competition across the nation in freestyle and Greco-Roman.

In 2011, for the first time the Northeast Regional will combine the Junior and Cadet competition into one event in East Stroudsburg, Pa. However, the Northeast Senior Regional will remain in Brockport, N.Y.

On the Kids level, athletes must compete in their assigned region, but on the Cadet and Junior level, wrestlers from any state may enter any Regional event and can attend as many as they like. To find your region and state director contact information, please visit usawrestling.org.

In the Cadet and Junior Regionals, the top three place winners in each weight class qualify for their state teams for the ASICS Junior and Cadet Nationals in Fargo, N.D. July 15-23. Click here for the event website.

All Regional events are included in the Future Olympian Rankings which is a great way to boost point totals. The rankings can be found here.

All Kids Regional participants automatically qualify for the ASICS Kids freestyle and Greco-Roman Nationals in Farmington, Utah held June 27-29.
