OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Don’t miss out wrestling fans! The 2011 USA Wrestling World Team Trials will be coming to Oklahoma City June 9-11 and will compete at the Cox Convention Center for the right to represent the United States at the 2011 World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

The event will begin Friday, June 10, 2011, with the first session beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the second session beginning at 6:30 p.m. The World Team Trials will continue through Saturday with two more sessions before the presentation of the 2011 World Championship teams. All sessions will include the three Olympic Styles, Men’s Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women’s Freestyle.

“USA Wrestling is excited that Oklahoma City will host our World Team Trials, which features the best wrestlers in the nation in the three Olympic styles,” said Rich Bender, Executive Director, USA Wrestling. “Oklahoma has long been a hotbed for amateur wrestling and has developed numerous World and Olympic medalists. We are pleased that we can showcase our top Olympic hopefuls in a community with such a strong wrestling tradition."

Each day, Session One will include Preliminaries, Quarter Finals, Semi- Finals, Challenge Finals/Consolations and 3rd Place and Challenge Tournament Finals. Session Two will consist of Finals World Team Trials and True Second Place Matches. The presentation of the World Championship teams will conclude the event. 

The winners will earn the right to represent the United States in the 2011 World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
