INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE GRANTS SUBSTITUTION OF MATT LINDLAND TO THE U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM

USA Wrestling has received notification that the International Olympic Committee has responded to the U.S. Olympic Committee's request to change the U.S. Olympic team roster at 76 kg in Greco-Roman wrestling.

In a letter to USOC Managing Director and General Counsel Mark Meudeking on August 31, IOC Sports Director Gilbert Felli responded that the IOC has agreed to grant the requested substitution of the entry, with Matt Lindland in the place of Keith Sieracki.

USA Wrestling has also received notice that an appeal of the decision by Judge James Zagel naming Lindland to the team is still pending.

The text of the IOC letter follows:

Re: Entry substitution

As your request was made pursuant to a court's order, the IOC has agreed to grant the requested substitution of entry, i.e. Mr. Matthew Lindland in the place of Keith Sieracki.

Yours sincerely,

Gilbert FELLI Sports Director
