COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Wrestling has updated their rosters for the four U.S. teams that will compete in the Kiki Cup, Saturday, January 29. The Greco-Roman tournament will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The tournament will be held in a dual meet format where each U.S. team will face a foreign team, but will not go up against each other. Leading USA-I is 2002 World Champion and three time World medalist Dremiel Byers (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. Also on the team are 2006 and 2007 World bronze medalist Harry Lester (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) and 2009 and 2010 World Team member Jeremiah Davis (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 60 kg/132 lbs. USA-II is led by 2006 World Champion Joe Warren (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 60 kg/132 lbs. Also on the team are 2010 World Team member Jake Fisher (Boise, Idaho/NYAC) at 74 kg/163 lbs and 2005 World bronze medalist Justin Ruiz (Meridian, Idaho/NYAC) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. Wrestling for USA-III are 2009 World Team members Chas Betts (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm)at 84 kg/185 lbs, R.C. Also on the team is Pete Gounaridis (Leominster, Mass./Sunkist Kids) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs who placed second in the 2009 World Team Trials. The international teams in the tournament are Bulgaria, Poland, Japan and Scandinavia which is made up of Sweden and Norway. “It’d be nice to win all 16 dual meets,†said National Greco-Roman coach Steve Fraser. “My main goals are that my top guys get great matches and experience with foreign guys and improve on their skills.†The event will be webcast live on TheMat.com starting at 9:00 a.m. Jason Bryant and Gary Abbott will call the action.
