TheMat.com to air live webcast of the finals of Colorado Springs Metro Championships on Saturday night

TheMat.com will provide a live webcast from the finals of the 11th annual Front Range Orthopaedics Colorado Springs Metro Wrestling Championships on Saturday, January 22. The finals on Saturday are scheduled at approximately 6:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
This is the annual high school city championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. The event has been organized and promoted by USA Wrestling’s national staff for 11 years as a service to the local wrestling community.
USA Wrestling’s Jason Bryant and Mitch Hull, along with special guests, will call the action.
The event will also be posted as an archive on USA Wrestling’s UStream Channel.
Coronado, the 2010 Metro champion and ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 5A, will attempt to defend their title against three-time Metro champion Pine Creek (2006, 2007, 2009). Pine Creek placed second in last year’s tournament and is ranked No. 3 in the state. Coronado has won two Metro Championship team titles (2008, 2010).
Based on last week’s On The Mat rankings, there are 86 individual wrestlers who are ranked in the state and expected to compete. Those entering the Metro Championships with No. 1 rankings in the state are Adrian Cordova of Coronado (5A-112), Geordan Martinez of Pine Creek (5A-119), Josh Martinez of Pine Creek (5A-125), Carter McElhany of Coronado (5A-130) and Nathan Burak of Coronado (5A-189).
This will be the first of three straight weekends of live webcasts from TheMat.com. On Saturday, Jan. 29, TheMat.com will webcast the Kiki Cup, an international Greco-Roman dual meet competition featuring four U.S. teams, and four other international squads, live from the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
The following week, the annual Dave Schultz Memorial International Championships will be webcast live from the U.S. Olympic Training Center on Thursday, Feb. 3, Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5.
