Women’s Team USA has been busy preparing for the new international season at a joint training camp with Canada at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. in early January.

Many of the best women wrestlers from both nations participated in the camp. In addition to technical instruction, there were many live matches included in the training regimen.

National Women’s Coach Terry Steiner talked to TheMat.com about the team’s progress at the training camp, as well as his goals for the upcoming international tour season. Steiner also explains why training with Canada has been helpful to the development of the women’s programs in both nations.

World silver medalist Elena Pirozhkova and two-time World bronze medalist Tatiana Padilla also discussed how their training has been going, as well as their goals and expectations for the upcoming year.
