Salt Lake Slam set for Heber City, Utah this weekend

The second leg of the 2010-2011 Folkstyle Tour of America is this weekend at the Wasatch County Events Center in Heber City, Utah.
Last year the Salt Lake Slam brought in over 450 wrestlers from 11 states. As of today, wrestlers from 15 states have already signed up, and the total number is expected to reach 600 wrestlers.
Preregistration will be capped at 600 so wrestlers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee their spot in the event.

New this year for the Folkstyle Tour of America is All-American Wrestling Supply’s Coaches Rewards Program. For every 5 wrestlers from a club at the event, the coach will receive a $10 gift card to All-American Wrestling Supply.
Also new this year, satellite weigh-ins are been made available. Official satellite weigh-ins will take place in the following locations:

The 2011 Salt Lake Slam will feature folkstyle competition for Bantams (2003-2004), Intermediates (2001-2002), Novices (1999-2000), and Middle Schoolers (1996-1998 plus currently enrolled in grades 6-8). In addition to the regular divisions, there is also a True Beginner division in each age group that places wrestlers in 4-man round robins with wrestlers of similar age and weight. True Beginners are defined as wrestlers who have actively competed in wrestling for less than two years.
Here is the schedule for the event:
Friday, January 7th
Registration, Weigh-ins, and Medical Check (All divisions welcome, but Bantam and Intermediates MUST weigh-in during this time) at 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Saturday, January 8th
Preliminaries through finals for Bantams, Intermediates, True Beginner Bantams & True Beginner Intermediates at 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Registration, Weigh-ins, and Medical Checks (All Novice and Middle School wrestlers that DID NOT weigh-in the night before) at 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Preliminaries through finals for Novice, Middle School, True Beginner Novices & True Beginners Intermediates at 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
