Virginia Duals pairings released

The pairings for the 31st annual Virginia Duals have been released in all six divisions. 

Penn State, Lehigh, Michigan and Kent State are the top four seeds in the National College Division. The College at Brockport, Nassau Community College, York (Pa.) and King College (Tenn.) are the top four seeds in the American College Division.

The three high school divisions were released on Friday as was the four-team middle school division. 

In the National High School Division, Wyoming Seminary (Pa.) drew the top seed, followed by Christiansburg (Va.), Nazareth (Pa.) and South Plainfield (N.J.) to round out the top four.

In the American High School Division, Liberty (Pa.) is the top seed, followed by Haddonfield (N.J.), Eastern Regional (N.J.) and Brookville (Va.).

The Black & Blue Division which generally comprises Hampton Roads-area teams, sees Ocean Lakes as the top seed, followed by Great Bridge, Riverbend and Langley.

The Virginia Duals will hold a press conference on January 4, 2011 at noon in the Lobby of the Hampton Coliseum. Coaches present will include Old Dominion’s Steve Martin, Apprentice’s Bruce Shumaker, Cox’s Matt Small, Western Branch’s Chris Martin and Poquoson’s Mike Casey.

Wrestling coverage will begin via Ustream.tv, the Virginia Duals site and TheMat.com on Friday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern with two bouts from the National College Division and two from the National H.S. Division. USA Wrestling’s Jason Bryant will be on the call along with guests from around the country, including Earl Smith of D1CollegeWrestling.net, who helped anchor the webcast last year.
