More than 400 volunteers are needed to assist with the upcoming 2011 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at the Wells Fargo Center from Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 19.

Volunteer opportunities include working at hotel welcome desks, assisting visitors with public transportation, and other needs, and supporting staff at the Wells Fargo Center and the Fan Fest at Lincoln Financial Field. Volunteers will receive an event T-shirt for their contribution.

Thousands of wrestling fans are expected to gather in Philadelphia for the Championships which feature more than 330 student athletes from more than 60 different schools.

“In order to make sure that the championships are run efficiently and effectively, we will be relying on the support of over 400 volunteers to assist us at the 2011 NCAA Wrestling Championships,” said Rider Director of Athletics Don Harnum whose school is serving as co-host with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for the Championships. “Volunteer support at an event like this is essential to its success.

“We are providing an opportunity for residents in the Greater Philadelphia Region to become involved and to participate at an NCAA Division I Championship,” added Harnum.
