TheMat.com to webcast live the USA vs. Russia dual on Friday and the NYAC Freestyle Open on Sunday

TheMat.com, in partnership with Lighthouse Wrestling, will offer free live webcasts of two major international freestyle events this weekend.
The USA vs. Russia men’s freestyle dual meet, set for Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., will be webcast live on Friday, Nov. 19.
The dual meet is tentatively scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The pre-match kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
A strong U.S. team, featuring past World Team members in all seven weight classes, will battle a talented young Russian team. Competing for Team USA are 2009 World silver medalist Jake Herbert (Evanston, Ill./New York AC) at 84 kg/185 lbs. and 2009 World bronze medalist Tervel Dlagnev (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
Tickets are still available for the dual meet for $20 and can be purchased at the door. All wrestling fans in the region are encouraged to attend in person.
A second free live webcast will be provided from the championship finals of the New York Athletic Club Freestyle International in New York City, N.Y. on Sunday, Nov. 21. Competition will be held in men’s and women’s freestyle.
Numerous top U.S. wrestlers, along with many talented international competitors, are expected to compete. Four returning champions are expected to return, including Dlagnev, plus 2010 World silver medalist Elena Pirozhkova (Colorado Springs, Colo/Gator WC) at 63 kg/138.75 lbs. and 2010 U.S. World Team member Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 48 kg/105.5. lbs.
The final session is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, but the exact time of the gold-medal finals can not be determined. Check TheMat.com on Sunday for an estimate for the broadcast time.
Wrestling fans are encouraged to attend in person. Admission is $20 for an all-session pass, and $10 for a student all-session pass, and are available at the door.
USA Wrestling Communications Director Gary Abbott will provide play-by-play coverage of both events, with additional special guest commentators.
The events will be webcast on USA Wrestling's UStream channel, with an archive posted at the conclusion of the live broadcast.
