Spots are still available for the NCEP Bronze Level Clinic webinar on Nov. 2-3, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time on both nights. 

The clinic will be instructed by Manager of National Coaches Education Program Cody Bickley and retired college coach Bob Smith. 

This is the first online NCEP Bronze clinic of the new membership year. These webinars have proven very popular and participants are encouraged to sign up right away in order to guarantee their spot in the clinic.

Special guest panelist Bob Smith is a retired college coach from Fort Hays State, where he served as head coach from 1992-2000. He coached 13 NCAA Div. II All-Americans and nine Academic All-Americans, and his team placed as high as ninth at the Div. II National Championships.

Previously, he was one of the nation’s most successful prep coaches at Wray High School in Colorado. Smith led Wray to 10 state team titles, seven state runner-up finishes and two state third-place finishes. He was named High School Coach of the Year in 1984. During his 33 years there, Smith coached 39 individual state champions, 39 state runners-up and 139 state placewinners.

This webinar is designed for coaches who are committed to expanding their knowledge in the art and science of the coaching of wrestling. The Bronze clinic is the first of a three-part advanced coaching education program, which is followed by a Silver and Gold level certifications. 

Copper is not a pre-requisite for the Bronze; however, it may be valuable to those coaches that do not have advanced formal coaching education. A current 2011 USA Wrestling coach’s membership card is a pre-requisite for this webinar. Participation during both nights is mandatory for certification.

The targeted audience is volunteer, high school, collegiate, and elite international coaches who are looking to improve their knowledge and ability. Also, for those coaches who aspire to be a national team coach. 

Sports Sciences, Sports First Aid, Wrestling Technique and Tactics are all applications that will be emphasized on throughout the webinar. 

The Bronze Certification Course is a four hour clinic plus a self study of the USA Wrestling Coach’s Guide to Excellence and self study test. The clinic will emphasize group interaction facilitated by Cody Bickley.
