Dan Gable autograph signing set for USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals on Oct. 29

WATERLOO, Iowa – Dan Gable, arguably the greatest coach and athlete in any sport, will be available for autographs at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum on Friday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. 

The autograph signing coincides with the USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals held at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Over 1500 kids will participate in the tournament.

“This will be Dan’s first autograph signing at the Dan Gable Museum since our merger with the National Wrestling Hall of Fame,” said Kyle Klingman, Director of the Dan Gable Museum. “This is a special opportunity for athletes and fans to meet an icon. Dan’s legacy continues to grow.”

Gable, a native of Waterloo, Iowa, won a gold medal at the 1972 Munich Olympics without surrendering a point. As the head coach at the University of Iowa, Gable led his teams to 15 NCAA titles from 1977 to 1997. He compiled a 355-21-5 dual meet record over his 21-year coaching career.

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum is located at 303 Jefferson St. in Waterloo. Gable will be available for autographs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29 and will remain at the museum the remainder of the evening.
