USA drops first three duals of Intercontinental Cup reports Russian website

KHASAVYURT, Russia - The Russian Wrestling Federation website has reported the team scores from the first three rounds of the Intercontinental Cup, a major freestyle dual meet tournament which is underway at the Hamid Hamidov Palace of Sports on Thursday.

According to the website, the United States lost its first three dual meets to Russia, the CSKA club from Russia and Georgia, all by 4-3 margins.

No specific information on each dual meet was provided. TheMat.com will provide updates as additional information becomes available.

The United States still has two more dual meets within Pool A against Korea and Belarus.

There are 11 teams in the tournament, featuring nine national teams and two major club teams from Russia. According to the Russian Wrestling Federation website, prize money will be given to the top three teams in the tournament, with the championship team winning $50,000, the runner-up team earning $30,000 and the third-place team winning $20,000.
