InterMat, one of the premier sources for wrestling news, has partnered with 360 Sports and Events to put together the 2010 InterMat JJ Classic, a marquee preseason folkstyle wrestling event in Rochester, Minn.

The inaugural InterMat JJ Classic will take place on October 23, 2010 at the UCR Regional Sports Center on the campus of Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC).  

Wrestling fans should be familiar with the RCTC campus, the site of the USA Wrestling Cadet National Dual Championships in 2009 and 2010. Another renowned high school dual championships, The Clash, is also held in the same venue each winter, along many other wrestling competitions throughout the year.

This is a USA Wrestling sanctioned event, and is expected to feature numerous talented high school and middle school wrestlers from many states.

The event is being organized by 360 Sports and Events Agency, a sports management company headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minn. that specializes in organizing, coordinating, and operating national sport-themed events, including the All-American Bowl and the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic.

The fast approaching tournament, which is open to wrestlers in grades 7-12, promises to be loaded with national talent. Wrestlers will compete in 14 weight classes ranging from 103 pounds to 285 pounds.

The field is filling up fast with some of the top wrestlers from across the nation, including numerous national champions, state champions, and state placewinners. Organizers are expecting this to be one the premier early-season tournaments in the nation.

The InterMat JJ Classic benefits a greater cause. The tournament was developed in honor of Justin Joseph (JJ) Kukowski, an avid sports fan who passed away on March 12, 2007 after his courageous battle with brain cancer. Proceeds from the Intermat JJ Classic will go toward the Justin Kukowski Center for Spiritual and Physical Healing, a treatment center for patients battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

The InterMat JJ Classic will also be a great tuneup opportunity for competitors planning on competing in the 2010 USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals in Cedar Falls, Iowa the following weekend.
