Freestyle Team USA member Angel Escobedo will be honored at a fundraising event in his hometown of Griffith, Ind. on Saturday, August 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Hildebrandt Hall.

It is called the University World Championships Send-off, and will be a spaghetti dinner. There will be food, music, raffles and fun.

Escobedo will represent the USA at the University World Championships in Italy in October. He is currently ranked No. 2 at 55 kg on the Senior level, after taking second at the 2010 World Team Trials. He is a past NCAA champion for Indiana.
