There will be two teams of top U.S. Senior wrestlers competing in international tournaments this weekend in Europe.

A group of nine Senior Greco-Roman wrestlers will compete in the Ion Corneanu Memorial International in Pitesti, Romania, August 7-8.

Included on the team are 2009 U.S. World Team member Chas Betts (St. Michael, Minn./Minnesota Storm) and 2010 U.S. Open champion Cheney Haight (Boise, Idaho/New York AC) at 84 kg/185 lbs.

Also in the competition are two other Greco-Roman Team USA members Andy Bisek (Chaska, Minn./Minnesota Storm) at 74 kg/163 lbs. and Robbie Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.

A group of three talented men’s freestyle wrestlers will also compete at the Ziolkowski International in Spala, Poland, August 7-8. 

Tommy Rowlands (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids), who was fifth at the 2007 World Championships, will wrestle at 120 kg.

2009 U.S. World Team member and 2009 U.S. Open champion Trent Paulson (Ames, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) will enter at 74 kg/163 lbs.

Angel Escobedo (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC), who was second at the U.S. Open and U.S. World Team Trials in 2010, will go up a weight class to wrestle at 60 kg/132 lbs.
