Citadel Wrestling Inks North Carolina Grappler

CHARLESTON, SC -- Sean Paez, a graduating senior from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, NC, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to wrestle at The Citadel.    Paez, who recorded a 58-3 mark his senior year, placed fifth at the 2000 National Prep Championships at the 215-pound weight calss.  He was a four-time all-conference selection as well as a two-time member of the North Carolina Greco-Free Style team.    Projected to wrestle at 197 pounds for the Bulldogs, Paez lettered in both wrestling and football, and compiled a 158-30 record with 120 pins in his high school career.  He was a member of the 1999, 2000 and 2001 North Carolina state championship teams.    "All of Sean1s accomplishments have been achieved through hard work," said Coach Rob Hjerling. "He will be an asset to our program and he will be competing for a starting position immediately."    Paez joins Ty Christensen of Columbus, NE, and Ryan McCelster of Lugoff, SC, as the 2001 Citadel wrestling class.
