Past World silver medalist Mike Zadick was No. 1 in this weight class from 2006 to 2008, but Shawn Bunch overtook Zadick last year to make his first World Team in 2009.

Bunch edged Zadick in the finals of the U.S. Open, earning Bunch a spot in the best-of-3 final-round series for the 2010 World Team Trials on June 11-12 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Bunch will face the winner of the Challenge Tournament for the World Team spot.

Zadick will be the No. 1 seed in the Challenge Tournament at 60 kg/132 lbs. Zadick has wrestled well this season, winning the Dave Schultz title and winning a medal in an event in Cuba.

Past NCAA champion Coleman Scott appears to be Zadick’s toughest obstacle in the challenge tournament. Scott placed third in the U.S. Open and has gained significant experience the past few seasons.

Past World University silver medalist Reece Humphrey is a top young talent in this division. He placed fourth at the Open.

Drew Headlee, Matt Valenti and Tyler Graff placed 5-6-7 at the Open, and each has the ability to make a big splash in this weight class.

Valenti was a two-time NCAA champion. Graff placed fifth in the 2009 NCAA Championships as a freshman for Wisconsin and won University Nationals last month in freestyle.

Past World University champion Nate Gallick started strong this season, but has been slowed once again by injuries. A healthy Gallick would also be a factor in this division. He was on the mat this week at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Past NCAA champion Derek Moore also has qualified for the Trials at 60 kilos. NCAA qualifier Alex Radsky won the Northern Plains Regional to earn a spot in the Trials.
