WATERLOO, Iowa – Graduating High School senior Dylan Ness of Bloomington, Minn. was named Outstanding Wrestler of the Northern Plains Senior Freestyle Regionals after capturing the 66 kg/145.5 lbs. division.

Ness defeated Justin Pearch (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army), 3-1, 1-6, 4-0 in the championship series.

The champions in each weight class qualify to compete at the World Team Trials in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 11-12.

The champion at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. was 2009 FILA Junior World champion Dom Bradley (Columbia, Mo./Sunkist Kids) defeated 2010 NCAA champion David Zabriskie (Ames, Iowa/Iowa State), 1-0, 0-3, 1-0 in the finals.

Winning a rare double title at the Northern Plains Regional by winning golds in both freestyle and Greco-Roman was the 84 kg/185 lbs. champion Jordan Holm (Minnesota Storm). Holm beat Jason Lulloff (La Crosse, Wis./Orange Crush WC), 0-3, 3-0, 4-0. Holm was also a Greco-Roman champion on Friday.

Capturing the title at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. was Mike Tamillow (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) dec. Byron Tate (Clinton, Iowa/Millennium), 1-0, 2-0.

Other individual champions were Zach Sanders (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) at 55 kg/121 lbs., Alex Radsky, Columbus, Ohio (Davidson College) at 60 kg/132 lbs. and Nick Marable, Columbia, Mo. (unattached) at 74 kg/163 lbs.

All of the qualifying events for the World Team Trials in men’s freestyle has been completed, but there will be some wildcard spots announced in the middle of next week.

Three women’s freestyle wrestlers earned spots in the World Team Trials with uncontested victories today at the Northern Plains.
