USA Wrestling has updated the U.S. Future Olympian Rankings through the popular Middle and Elementary Folkstyle Nationals held at Walt Disney World® Resort. Wrestlers who placed at this event were rewarded double the U.S. Future Olympian Rankings' points. There will be one more opportunity this season to receive double points in folkstyle at the ASICS Folkstyle National Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa, April 1-3. The U.S. Future Olympian Ranking program is designed to recognize the performance of America's most talented wrestlers, based upon actual results in major USA Wrestling events. Included in the point system will be USA Wrestling events in the following age-group divisions: Intermediate, Novice, Schoolboy/Schoolgirl, Middle School, Cadet and Junior. In each age division, specific national and regional events in freestyle, Greco-Roman and folkstyle wrestling will be used to score points. The top three place winners in each weight class will receive a special reward and the top ten in each weight class will be awarded certificates. Wrestlers who are in the top 25 in each age division will be recognized on TheMat.com. (www.TheMat.com). There are only two remaining Folkstyle events: Dominate the Dells in Wisc. Dells, Wisc., and ASICS Folkstyle National Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Wrestlers interested in racking up their points should start to pay attention to the Greco-Roman and freestyle events.
