The United States is 3-0 going into the final match of the 2001 World Cup with a 22-10 victory over Turkey, May 6. The U.S. won six of the eight bouts to secure the victory.    The U.S. used an alternate at 119 pounds in Stephen Abas (Fresno, Calif./Sunkist Kids). He wrestled his first match at the 2001 World Cup and pinned Vedat Oztemur at 2:08. Teague Moore (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sunkist Kids) is resting a sore knee but will wrestle tonight against Russia.    At 127.75 pounds, Kerry Boumans (Colorado Springs, Colo./Dave Schultz WC) stayed undefeated in the 2001 World Cup with a 6-1 decision over Arif Kama.     2000 Olympic team member Cary Kolat (Morgantown, W. Va./Dave Schultz WC) scored a pin at 3:38 over Omer Cubukci to register the win at 138.75 pounds.    At 152 pounds,  Chris Bono (Gilbert, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) lost a close 4-3 decision to Ahmet Gulhan.    Joe Williams (Iowa City, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) kept his undefeated streak alive with a 4-3 decision over Gokhan Yavaser.  2000 Olympian Charles Burton (Bloomington, Ind./NYAC) lost 7-4 to Nuri Zengin at 187.25 pounds.     Dominic Black (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) decisioned Vedat Ergin 7-1 to rack up more team points for the U.S.    2000 Olympian Kerry McCoy (Bethlehem, Pa./NYAC) is also undefeated in the 2001 World Cup going into tonights match against Russia. He decisioned Aydin Polatci 8-5. Polatci also competed in the 2000 Olympics for Turkey. This is fun for me to be competing in an international tournament of this class."    76 kg - Joe Williams, Iowa City, Iowa - "I never should have gotten down 3-0, I know better than that. I just had to listen to my coaches and they just kept telling me to attack and score. It came down tot he end, but I got it done."    97 kg - Dominic Black, Colorado Springs, Colo. - "I tried to move my feet better this match and I got in a lot of shots and was able to score off of them. I just had to finish them. It's always nice to get a victory and take that into the next dual."    2001 U.S. World Cup Head Coach Mark Manning, Lincoln, Neb. - "Our guys are wrestling with good intensity. There are certain situations we are getting beat and have lost a lot of close bouts. But our team is wrestling with a lot of heart and we need to keep that intensity going. We can't take Russia for granted tonight, we have to go out and battle again."
