In an effort to reach as many wrestling supporters as possible and rally support behind the effort to save Cal-State Bakersfield's varsity wrestling program, California USA Wrestling has set up an innovative program to help fundraise for the effort.

The TEXT TO WIN campaign has been launched, which will allow anybody in the nation to donate $10 to the Cal-State Bakersfield wrestling program by using their personal cell phone.

This program is similar to a highly successful campaign by the American Red Cross to raise funds for the relief effort in Haiti after the devastating earthquake there.

The announcement by Cal-State Bakersfield that it intended to drop its varsity wrestling team, as well as three other programs, will have a devastating affect on the sport within California, the Western United States and the entire nation. 

This is part of the effort by the wrestling community in California to stand up and fight for their college programs, and preserve the tradition and opportunity for future generations. Everybody is invited to participate across the nation, not just California residents.

Donating $10 is a very simple task. Here is how it all works:

On your cell phone, text the word "WIN" to the number 25383

You will get a confirmation text, that says: "Reply 'YES' to confirm a $10 donation to CA Wrestling"

Reply "YES" and a $10 donation will automatically be added to your next phone bill!
